Release notes 2026

All oneGRID Cloud releases of 2026, newest first. See Release notes for the versioning policy.

1.9.0 — 2026-10-18

This release adds Checkout, which lets an operator count a picked work order before it leaves the warehouse, and Relocate Item, which moves stock from one shelving storage location to another. It also adds a regional format for dates, times, and numbers, an option to show errors in a dialog, a search on the put wall, and size limits for work orders.

New

  • Checkout: A new Checkout card in the Main Menu opens a count of a picked work order before it is delivered. Identify the order by Work order or by Container, then scan its code; the page lists every item with its requested, picked, and checked amounts, a status per line, a progress bar, and the containers attached to the order. Requires the new Checkout permission, which the Administrator, Supervisor, and Operator presets include, and the Checkout license feature. See Check out a work order and Permissions and presets.
  • Checkout — counting: Each item scan adds one to the Checked amount of its line and is saved at once, so an order can be counted in part, finished later or by another operator, and counted by two operators at the same time. Where the order carries lot numbers, the lot number is asked for first; an item or lot number that is not on the order is reported. See Check out a work order.
  • Checkout — counted entries: The pencil button on a line opens Counted entries, which lists every count with who made it and when. Single entries or all entries of a line can be removed, and nothing changes until Save & close. A checked amount cannot be typed in. See Check out a work order.
  • Checkout — finishing: Finish is available once every line reads Success. It reports the checked amounts to your connected system and returns to the Checkout start page; if the system cannot be reached, the check is still saved and a warning is shown. A checked-out order is closed for counting and offers Resend where a connected system is set up. The eye button next to the work order number opens the order's details for reading. See Check out a work order.
  • Checkout on work orders: The History list and the work order details show a Checked chip once the checkout is finished, a Checkout row with its date or In progress, and a checkout status per item. See Manage work orders and Work order statuses.
  • Relocate Item: A new Relocate Item tile in the Main Menu, after Place, and a matching entry in the three-dots menu move an amount of an item from one shelving storage to a location in the same or another shelving storage. Choose the From storage and To storage, scan the item, and enter an amount and optional lot number, or tick All to move the whole stock of the source location; LED guidance then leads to a suggested location in the To storage. Relocations do not appear in the work order lists, the history, or the export, and are not reported to your connected system. See Relocate an item.
  • Relocate Item — unfinished relocations: Opening Relocate Item while items from an earlier relocation are still in hand asks what should happen to them: put them back with guidance, undo the pending relocation, close it with Continue relocation and start a new one, or cancel. See Relocate an item.
  • Regional format: The Account page has a new Regional format section for choosing the date, time, and number format independently of the language. Every option defaults to Same as language, so nothing changes until you pick a format. See Your account.
  • Error messages: A new Error messages setting under General settings shows errors in a dialog that has to be confirmed with Ok, instead of a message that disappears on its own. It is disabled by default. See General settings.
  • Put Wall search: The work orders on the put wall can be searched by order number or by location name, and each order lists the locations it stands on. The work order details show a Placed on table with the storage and location of the order's containers. See Sort items on the Put Wall and Manage work orders.
  • Pick by scanning in single work order processing: Work orders of a process type now follow the storage's Pick by scanning setting, which also offers Item for a shelving storage. Under Container, the pick is bound to the scanned container and its code is shown as Source container. A work order whose designated location holds the item only in containers without a code is refused at the start. See Pick a work order and Storage settings.
  • Work order size limits: Configured limits cap how many requests a work order may hold, how many locations it may occupy at once, and the two combined. A creation, import, edit, template save, or attach that would go beyond a limit is refused as a whole, with a message naming the limit. Detaching, cancelling a position, and replacing a full container are never blocked. See Create a work order, Import work orders, and Manage work order templates.
  • Adapter API: oneGRID Cloud reports a finished or resent checkout to the connected system with the new POST /WorkOrders/UpdateCompletionCheck call. See Work orders and Lifecycle.

Improved

  • Inbound/Outbound: The license switch formerly labelled "Checkout" is now labelled Inbound/Outbound, which is what it has always controlled. The page moved from /Checkout to /InboundOutbound, so existing bookmarks need updating. See Identify a container and Recycle containers.
  • Put Wall: A scan the process turns down now also gives an error sound, a vibration where the device supports it, and a red blink of the location light. The back arrow on the item placing confirmation asks before the scanned item is discarded. See Sort items on the Put Wall.
  • PickCart: For work orders of a process type, the source confirmation follows the Pick by scanning setting of the shelving storage the item is taken from; setting the cart's Source confirmation to None still removes the step. A work order whose location has no container with a code to scan, where the storage asks for one, can no longer be attached or started. See Pick with a PickCart and Storage settings.
  • PickCart and ISAC: Containers and work orders another operator left on a cart can be detached by whoever holds the cart; the confirmation names the other operator. The panel of a cart location shows the work order number and its assignee. See Pick with a PickCart and Pick with ISAC.
  • Storage settings: Container can no longer be chosen for a scanning confirmation while the system holds no container that can be scanned; the option is greyed out with the reason. Storages already configured that way keep their setting. See Storage settings.
  • Locations and storages: A location or storage named by a work order request can now be deleted; the request loses that designation instead of the deletion being refused. See Storages and racks.
  • Location types: Deleting a location type that is still assigned to locations is now refused, instead of deleting every location of that type. See Location and container types.
  • History and Export Data: Both pages use the same date range fields. The pickers close on selection, and a To date earlier than From is reported under the field. See Manage work orders and Export data.
  • Amounts: An amount is shown with only the decimals it actually has (2.50 kg reads 2.5 kg) and without a thousands separator. See Check and adjust stock.
  • Work order files: The request type 3 / RelocateItem is reserved for relocations, and work order files and templates that use it are rejected. See Files and Manage work order templates.

Fixed

  • Amounts: Fractional amounts are stored as entered. Amount fields no longer trim to two decimals, saving rounds instead of truncating, and placing, the put wall, onboarding, the stock import, and Identify container no longer cut an amount down to a whole unit. Correcting the stock amount of a non-piece item no longer deletes the stock line. See Check and adjust stock and Place items and containers.
  • Placing: With Overwrite ticked, the overwrite dialog is now offered when every location of the storage is taken by another item, when the location holds another lot number of the item, and on a location that carries more than one container. Confirming clears the whole location, and the dialog lists every placement it removes. Lot numbers that differ only in upper and lower case are treated as the same lot. See Place items and containers.
  • Place container: An operator with the Checkout permission who scans a container whose order another operator picked now gets the normal placing confirmation. See Place items and containers.
  • Put Wall: The process page shows the item's picture and the assigned-color notice. A work order that still keeps an unloaded container no longer breaks the wall, an order standing on two put walls lights up only the locations on the wall you are at, and a location holding two containers of the same order no longer breaks placing confirmations. Cancelling a position no longer subtracts it twice from the completed count, and Unload with nothing ready to unload says so at once. See Sort items on the Put Wall.
  • PickCart: A work order tile with a long text no longer grows wider than its column; the order lists of single order processing behave the same way. Attaching a work order template while the selected work order type has no work orders no longer leaves the cart page on Processing... until it is reloaded. See Pick with a PickCart and Pick a work order.
  • Packing list: The date printed on the PDF is in the time zone of the user who downloaded it and formatted as dd.MM.yyyy/HH.mm. See Pick with a PickCart.
  • Work order list: An order someone had already started picking was listed as New while its details said Paused; the list now shows the real status. See Manage work orders.
  • Work orders: An update that swaps or shifts the sequence numbers of a repeated item is no longer rejected. Single item picking and orders created from a template no longer fail when the generated order number is the start of a number already in use. See Manage work orders, Pick a single item, and Manage work order templates.
  • Scanning: Scanning a work order's barcode to open it no longer times out on installations with a large work order history, and the device vibrates when the camera captures a code. See Pick a work order.
  • Location modes: When the mode change of a single location fails, the Change location mode dialog now names the actual cause, for example another location holding the same item or a different lot number, instead of asking you to change the mode of each location individually. See Storages and racks.
  • Translations: Texts that appeared in English in every language are now translated into German and Chinese: on the ISAC code pairing page (Last paired code, Double scan warning, the ISAC code label and its validation message), in the Remove ISAC device from rack dialog, the Picking completed. message and the Stop Picking button of ISAC picking, and the message for a scan in a storage that is not meant for picking. See ISAC codes and Pick with ISAC.
  • Inventory Management: A placement on a location whose mode does not track amounts reads Untracked instead of 2147483647 pcs. See Check and adjust stock.
  • Storage names: Every page that names a storage now shows its display name, falling back to the internal name. See Storages and racks.
  • Licensing: The Inbound/Outbound and Manual Sorting license features now control their pages, menu cards, and permissions. A page whose feature is off says so instead of reporting a missing permission, and a user without the permission is told which one they lack. See A feature is not visible.
  • Item import: Importing existing items no longer fails when the import makes a different language the item's default description. See Manage items.
  • ISAC codes: The paged lists of unpaired locations and ISAC codes used for pairing no longer show an entry twice or skip one while scrolling. See ISAC codes.

Action required

  • Placement amounts in the oneGRID API: PUT Placements now takes UpdatePlacementRequest.Amount in base units, so integrations calling it must stop pre-dividing the amount. In item onboarding, ConfirmPlacementRequest.Amount is now a decimal number and GetLocationResponse.Placements[].Amount carries base units.

1.8.2 — 2026-09-24

A maintenance release that extends the picker color palette so more operators can work on one storage at the same time.

Improved

  • Picker colors: Four colors — Violet, Orange, Emerald Green, and Lime — have been added, so a storage can hand out 10 colors instead of 6 and that many operators can work on it at once. The new colors are shown by smartLED only: smartCAP sensors cannot display them, so an operator holding one gets no confirmation light on a sensor. Choosing one on the Users page or in the storage settings shows a warning saying so. See Manage users and Storage settings.

1.8.1 — 2026-08-26

A maintenance release that extends the work order search and fixes cart picking with containers that were emptied and put back into service.

Improved

  • Work order search: The search popover in the PickCart and Single Order Processing lists now also matches the value your connected system sends with a work order, so those two lists search the same fields as the Work orders and History pages — order number, description, and the connected system's value. See Pick with a PickCart and Pick a work order.

Fixed

  • Cart picking: A container emptied through Recycle containers can be scanned again as the replacement when a container fills up during picking. It used to be rejected as a container that already holds picked items, however long ago it was emptied. A container that already carries part of the order being picked is still refused, so no packing list can list the same goods twice. See Pick with a PickCart and Recycle containers.
  • Cart picking: An order continuing in a container that was emptied and put back into service is now handled correctly — the container counts as empty while nothing has been picked into it for that order, re-attaching the order points the operator back to it instead of starting the order in yet another container, and Detach all work orders is no longer refused over goods belonging to a different order. See Pick with a PickCart.

1.8.0 — 2026-08-14

This release adds the Export Data page for writing work orders to a CSV or Excel file, lets an operator continue a full container in a new one during cart picking, and extends the History page with a date period and counter cards.

New

  • Export Data: A new Export Data permission unlocks an Export group in the Main Menu with an Export Data card leading to the new Export Data page. Administrators and supervisors receive the permission with their preset; for every other user it has to be granted on the Users page. See Export data, Manage users, and Permissions and presets.
  • Export Data: Work orders can be exported to a file. Pick a status — Completed, Pending, or New — and a creation date range, then choose the columns the file should contain; customer name, order number and description, total assigned containers, and container codes are all available and selected by default. Abandoned, fully cancelled, and empty orders are never exported. Column headings and the file name follow your account language. See Export data.
  • Export Data: The export asks which format you want, CSV or EXCEL. Both contain the same rows and columns. The Excel workbook opens with a bold heading row that stays visible while you scroll, a filter drop-down on every column, and columns already wide enough to read. No. and Total assigned containers are real numbers you can sum; every other cell is text, so a container code or order number starting with a zero keeps it. See Export data.
  • Export Data: The export can also offer columns that come from your connected system. When it advertises them, they appear in the column list below the standard ones and their values are fetched while the file is built, so the file always reflects what your system says at that moment. Installations whose connected system advertises no columns see the page and the file unchanged. See Export data.
  • Cart picking: When a container fills up during picking, a Container is full, attach new button lets the operator scan an empty container and continue in it. The full container leaves the PickCart but keeps its work order and its contents, so its packing list stays available. Requires container tracking, and is not offered for an order on a cart location without a real container or for a container nothing has been picked into yet. See Pick with a PickCart.
  • History: Processed work orders can be narrowed down to a period. The page opens on the last 30 days and reaches back to the day the oldest order was processed. See Manage work orders.
  • History: Counter cards above the list show, for every process type, how many work orders were processed in total, today, this week, and this month. The counters always cover the whole history and are not affected by the filters below them. See Manage work orders.
  • Manual Sorting: The current stocks of the selected storage can be exported to a CSV file directly from the Manual Sorting page, listing storage, location, container, item number, external identifier, name and description, lot number, amount, and unit of measure. Headings, amounts, units, and separators follow your account language. See Sort items with Manual Sorting.
  • Work order search: The search on the Work orders and History pages now also matches the description and the value shown in the Customer column, not just the order number. See Manage work orders.
  • Work order search: Orders in the PickCart and Single Order Processing lists can be filtered with a search popover matching the order number or the description. The match is not case-sensitive, and an active filter is shown as a removable chip. See Pick with a PickCart and Pick a work order.
  • Info: The Info page now links to the oneGRID documentation. The link opens in a new tab and follows the interface language. See Navigation.

Improved

  • Export Data: The page remembers which columns you last exported and offers them again next time, separately for each status. The selection is saved whenever an export succeeds and is remembered per user in the browser you exported from, so it does not follow you to another machine. See Export data.
  • Export Data: The Customer Name column in exported files now shows the same customer name as the Customer column on the Work orders and History pages, instead of always being blank. See Export data.
  • Work order lists: The Customer value is stored on the work order when it is received instead of being looked up on every page load, so the Work orders and History pages load faster and no longer depend on the connected system being reachable. See Manage work orders.
  • Work order lists and export: The column showing the value your connected system sends with a work order is now named by that system, and appears only when it provides a name — on the Work orders and History pages, in the order details, in the column list, and in the exported file. An installation whose connected system provides no name no longer sees a column of N/D values. See Manage work orders and Export data.
  • Work order search: The search fields now simply read Search instead of listing the fields being searched — a list that could not stay accurate once your connected system names one of those fields. What is searched is unchanged. See Manage work orders.
  • Manual Sorting: The storage location summary is now shown as metric tiles for empty and full locations, replacing the previous plain-text notice. See Sort items with Manual Sorting.
  • Put Wall: The placing view now shows the item name next to the item number. See Sort items on the Put Wall.
  • PickCart: New work orders are fetched from the connected system when the work order list is opened — including after switching storage or work order type, or returning from templates — instead of on every refresh of that list. See Pick with a PickCart.
  • Work order templates: The same item can now be added to a template more than once, as long as each request has a different sequence number, so an item can be picked at several points in the sequence. See Manage work order templates.

Fixed

  • Export Data: Exported CSV files now open in Excel with the correct characters in every language, so German umlauts and Chinese text arrive as written. The file also uses the list separator your language's Excel expects, so a German export is split into columns instead of landing every row in column A. Exported Excel files no longer drop rare characters from a cell or from the sheet name. See Export data.
  • Storage settings: The Export button is no longer left permanently disabled after an export fails. See Storage settings.
  • Work order lists: Paged lists no longer skip rows on the following page after items were added or removed and the list was refreshed or re-filtered. See Manage work orders.
  • History: Work orders that left the list without anything being picked — every item cancelled, or the order abandoned right away — are now placed in the list by the day that happened, instead of sinking to the bottom. They are counted in the counter cards as well. See Manage work orders.
  • PickCart: A work order type with neither work orders nor templates now shows the work order list with a message that none are available. Previously the templates list was opened instead, reporting missing templates with no way to switch back. See Pick with a PickCart.
  • Picking: When Always navigate to designated location is enabled and the designated location holds less stock than requested, confirming from a single container — or by scanning a lot number — now books the full requested amount in one step instead of failing. See Pick a work order.
  • Picking: The order report shown after scanning a work order code now displays the item name for every position, instead of N/D. See Pick a work order.
  • Scanning: Scanning no longer fails on keyboard events that carry no character, such as those dispatched by the browser, an extension, or the scanner driver. These events are now ignored, so scans are processed reliably. See Pick a work order.
  • Manual Sorting: Opening the page without a selected storage now highlights the Select a storage hint in the top bar, as the other process pages already do. See Sort items with Manual Sorting.
  • Manual Sorting: The Location is full button is now disabled while the process points at an empty location, so it can only be pressed for a location that actually holds the item. See Sort items with Manual Sorting.

Action required

  • Work order templates: Upgrading rebuilds a unique index on the request table to allow repeated items. On large installations this takes a table-level lock for the duration of the rebuild, so schedule the upgrade outside operating hours. See Manage work order templates.

1.7.1 — 2026-07-29

A maintenance release that fixes scanning work order codes when the orders come from a connected system.

Fixed

  • Work order scanning: Scanning a work order code to start a single order, or to attach an order to a PickCart, no longer fails when the orders come from a connected ERP or WMS system — the storage you are working in is now sent along with the lookup. If your account has no Assigned storage, oneGRID now asks you to assign one instead of letting the scan fail. See Pick a work order, Pick with a PickCart, and Manage users.

1.7.0 — 2026-07-27

This release adds Manual Sorting for shelving storages, reusable work order templates, and lot-number scanning during picking and placing, and redesigns the scanning-policy screen.

New

  • Manual Sorting: A new put-to-light sorting process for shelving storages. Operators scan an item and place it into the indicated location, with dedicated flows to unload items from the storage and to clear it in one step; the fill status is shown and the running process appears among the user's ongoing processes. Requires the Manual Sorting license feature and the Manual Sorting permission. See Sort items with Manual Sorting.
  • Work order templates: Create reusable templates for work orders and manage them under Management > Work order templates — add, edit, delete, and import templates from a CSV or JSON file, with a report listing any entries that could not be imported. Operators start a single order or attach a cart order directly from a template. See Manage work order templates.
  • Lot number scanning: Lot numbers can be scanned during picking and placing. See Pick a work order and Place items and containers.
  • Create item while placing: When a scanned item does not exist yet, it can be confirmed and created without leaving the placing process. See Place items and containers.
  • Unload by scanning: A new scanning confirmation policy for unloading on shelving storages. See Storage settings.

Improved

  • Work order list: The list can be filtered between work orders and work order templates, and a work order type that has only templates can still be selected. See Manage work order templates.
  • Scanning confirmation policies: The policy screen was redesigned — each policy (location, container, item, UI button) is now a single-click button with a shared legend and inline recommendations, replacing the previous drop-down menus. See Storage settings.
  • Put Wall: The process view reflects order changes in real time, highlights the last confirmed work order, and shows additional information when a work order is confirmed. See Sort items on the Put Wall.
  • Put Wall: Processable work orders are prioritized when a process starts. See Sort items on the Put Wall.
  • Placement import: Large placement files can be imported without the app becoming unresponsive. See Storage settings.
  • Item import: Duplicate item entries are reported so they can be corrected before importing. See Manage items.
  • Interface wording: Interface texts were reviewed — contractions were expanded and duplicated translations removed for clearer, more consistent wording.

Fixed

  • Put Wall: The "out of colors" dialog is shown again when it applies, overlapping updates after cancelling a work order and an inconsistent progress counter were resolved, paused processes are no longer counted toward the license limit, and clearing placements on a shelf or rack now removes leftover containers and refreshes the view. See Sort items on the Put Wall.
  • PickCart: Containers appear correctly after attaching or relocating them, a crash when opening the cart locations visualization was fixed, the Reset sequence button is disabled when it would have no effect, the order list refreshes when attaching, and missing permission messages are now shown in the cart process. See Pick with a PickCart.
  • Picking: Fixed the single-item picking view on mobile devices, the scan-box placeholder text, and negative picking confirmation amounts. See Pick a single item.
  • Storage locations: Fixed updating flat storage locations. See Storages and racks.
  • Item import: Fixed importing items from a file. See Manage items.
  • Devices: Device handling now recovers after a lost connection. See Monitor devices.

1.6.0 — 2026-03-20

This release reworks location handling in storages, adds storage duplication, and delivers a completely refactored Put Wall.

New

  • Customizable location modes: Location modes were fully reworked and extended to match real warehouse scenarios. The new Location modes tab under Management lets you define modes through selectable rules — such as multiple placements, amount tracking behavior, multiple lot numbers, and placement of tracked containers — and assign them to locations. See Location and container types.
  • Storage duplication: An entire storage — or selected racks — can be duplicated including all associated settings via Duplicate in the three-dots menu. This greatly reduces configuration effort when several storages share the same structure. See Storages and racks.
  • Put Wall rework: The Put Wall sorting process was completely refactored and extended: a Start/Continue button, multi-user sorting, cancelling a work order in progress, relocating a work order from the wall into a container when sorting ends, configurable colors for the putting and unloading phases, a Skip function during unloading, and an error color when unloading cancelled work orders. See Sort items on the Put Wall and Storage settings.

Improved

  • oneGRID API: Containers can be detached from work orders via the API, and a new endpoint exposes the Put Wall status to external systems.
  • Confirmation policy: The confirmation settings were extended — confirming with an on-screen button is now available. See Storage settings.
  • Data import: CSV and JSON imports handle large files reliably and give clearer feedback when data is inconsistent. See Import work orders and Manage items.
  • User interface: Inconsistencies across dialog windows were cleaned up.

Fixed

  • Scanning amounts: The first digit is no longer cut off when scanning amounts.
  • Placement imports: Importing placements from a CSV file now shows its progress, and reimporting placements no longer fails.
  • Carts: Placing a container on a cart no longer ends in an error.
