Manage work orders
This workflow shows you how to manage existing work orders: view their details, edit them, abandon them, restore abandoned ones, and review processed orders. It is for administrators and supervisors.
Role: Administrator
Prerequisites
- Your account has the Work Orders And Items permission. Abandoning additionally requires the Work Order Abandon permission.
Steps
View work orders and their details
- Open Management > Work orders. The Internal tab shows orders created in oneGRID (origin oneGRID System); the External tab shows orders from connected systems (origin Interface).
- To find a specific order, type into the Search field above the list. It matches the order number, the description, and the value your connected system sends with the order.
- Click the details icon of an order to see its items, amounts, customer information, and status.
The column that carries the value your connected system sends with a work order is named by your adapter, and appears only when the adapter provides a name for it — on this page, in the History, in the work order details, and in an export. A name oneGRID already translates, such as Customer Name, is shown in your own language; any other name appears exactly as your adapter sent it.
Edit a work order
- On the Internal tab, click the edit icon of the order. Only internal orders that are not completed can be edited — see A work order cannot be edited or abandoned.
- Change the picking list, dates, or description, and save.
Abandon a work order
An abandoned work order is taken out of processing. Restore it from the History if it is needed again.
- Click the abandon icon of the order. The confirmation dialog opens.
- Confirm. The order status changes to Abandoned.
Review processed orders and restore abandoned ones
- Open the History page — from the three-dots menu in the top bar, or through History on the work order pages.
- Read the counter cards above the list. Each process type that has processed orders gets one card showing its Total orders count and how many orders were processed Today, This week, and This month. Orders that are not of a defined process type share one Picking card.
- Switch between Processed by me and All to find the order. The list shows the final status and the operators who processed each order.
- To narrow the list to a period, set From and To and click Apply. The page opens on the last 30 days and reaches back to the day the oldest order was processed. Reset returns to the default period.
- To find a specific order, type into the Search field above the list. It matches the order number, the description, and the value your connected system sends with the order.
- To bring an abandoned order back, click its restore icon. The order becomes available for processing again.
The counter cards always cover the whole history. They are not affected by the tab, the period, or the search phrase below them.
Result
The work order list reflects the current state of your operation, and no order is lost: completed and abandoned orders remain traceable in the History. To take order data out of oneGRID as a file, see Export data.
