Location and container types

This page describes the definitions used when building storages: location types, location modes, and container types. Managing them requires the Management permission.

Where to find it

1. Open Management and use the Assets definition group: Location types, Location modes, and Container types.

Location types

Location types classify the locations of your storages.

1. Open Management > Location types.
2. Add, edit, or delete location types. Types in use by existing locations cannot be removed without adjusting those locations first.

Location modes

Location modes control the behavior of locations through selectable rules.

1. Open Management > Location modes.
2. Add a mode and select the rules that apply to it.
3. Assign the mode to locations on the Rack details page — see Storages and racks.

Container types

Container types classify your containers.

1. Open Management > Container types.
2. Add, edit, or delete container types. They are used when creating containers — see Manage containers.
